In 2013, as a single mother, I took a leap of faith and started Social Butterfly, a small business built on stock photography and a canned logo. It was a modest beginning, supplying supplementary income while I held down numerous full-time jobs for the benefits they offered, including essential health insurance.
As the years passed, Social Butterfly continued at a steady, albeit slow, pace. Everything changed in 2020 during the COVID-19 lockdown. Confined at home for two months, I seized the opportunity to rebrand my business. With a new, "kind-of" custom logo I designed myself and a revamped website, Social Butterfly was ready to spread its wings just as the world realized the critical need for an online presence. The lockdown underscored the urgency of having a rich online platform for many small brick-and-mortar businesses, whether for e-commerce or to maintain visibility in an increasingly digital marketplace.
2020 was a monumental year for me, personally and professionally. Not only did I embark on a new chapter in my business journey, but I also got married after 12 years of being a dedicated single mom. With my new marital status providing the stability of shared health insurance, I could take Social Butterfly to the next level without the constraints that once held me back.
Fast forward to today, five years since that pivotal lockdown, and it was time for another refresh. I had a recent opportunity to accept (fight or flight kicked in) the involuntary suspension of ALL my personal and business Meta accounts and do another pivot. So, I introduce Social Butterfly Digital to you, 3.0!
Social Butterfly Digital represents not just a rebranding but a rebirth. It illustrates a business that has evolved, adapted to challenges, and emerged stronger. It's a testament to the power of resilience and the importance of continually adapting to meet the ever-changing needs of the digital landscape.
