A Decade in Hospice Marketing—and Why I'm Just Getting Started

Two people holding hands in a hospice related scene.

In 2014, I accepted a consulting role with Rocky Mountain Hospice that would alter the trajectory of my career—and, frankly, my life. I didn't know it at the time, but strolling into the world of hospice would lead me to some of the most meaningful and rewarding work I've ever done.

However, before that job, I didn't fully understand hospice care.

When my grandmother passed away in 2013, I was confused and thought hospice was simply a place—a sterile room tucked away in a hospital where people went to die. I didn't understand the depth of support it offered the comfort it could provide, or the dignity it restored during life's most tender final moments. When my father died in 2016, my family once again experienced the priceless care of hospice. I was grateful for the empathy and support these selfless professionals offered, from meeting my dad in "his world" when he was in the final haze of dementia to providing spiritual care, family counseling, pain management, and simply being present.

By the time I understood what hospice was, it had already left a lasting imprint on my life—and I knew I wanted to help other people understand it, too.

A Professional Path with Purpose

Since 2014, I've worked with several incredible hospice teams, including Majestic Hospice in Georgia, BRiO Home Health and Hospice, and Rocky Mountain Hospice. Today, I proudly partner with Stillwater Hospice, a growing and compassionate network with nine locations across Montana. Their team continues to inspire me every single day with their commitment to holistic care, family support, and strong community ties.

What I Bring to Hospice Marketing

Hospice, home health, and palliative care require a different approach than traditional healthcare marketing. The tone needs to be gentle yet clear, educational but warm. There's no room for cold copy, disconnected branding, or high-pressure messaging. This work is about human connection—and the marketing should reflect that.

I offer a full spectrum of digital marketing services tailored specifically for hospice and palliative care organizations:

  • Social media content and strategy

  • SEO-optimized blog writing and website messaging

  • Email newsletters

  • Community and referral cross-marketing

  • Event marketing and caregiver engagement

  • Brand voice development and storytelling

With a deep respect for compliance, language, and community trust, I've learned how to amplify the voice of hospice with both heart and professionalism.

Expanding to Boise and Beyond

After recently relocating to Boise, Idaho, I am actively seeking to expand my hospice and palliative care marketing services in the local area while continuing to support clients nationwide through digital platforms.

A key aspect of my service model is the inclusion of a non-compete clause in every hospice contract. This means that if we choose to partner, I will not work with another hospice provider in your geographic service area. I am committed to helping your team grow without any competing interests.

Why I Keep Doing This Work

Because I believe hospice care is still widely misunderstood. Because I remember what it felt like to be unsure, overwhelmed, and unprepared when my loved ones were nearing the end of life. Because I know there are families right now who need someone to guide them toward relief, dignity, and a sense of peace of mind.

Hospice is not about giving up. It's about showing up. It's about honoring life through the end.

And I consider it a privilege to help tell that story—strategically, respectfully, and with compassion.
